How Mementos Reinvented Itself During Covid

Being part of the memorabilia world naturally opens doors to fascinating conversations. But when the Covid pandemic hit, it brought the events industry to a sudden halt, and with it, much of our business at Mementos. Like many, our customers were more cautious with spending due to the uncertainty everyone faced.

We knew we had to adapt.

To keep the business going, we explored new markets. One of our first ventures was Retro Mementos—a branch dedicated to trading classic retro football shirts. But perhaps the most significant shift came with the launch of our Memorabilia Insurance Valuation Service.

This unique service involves professionally photographing each item in a client’s collection and meticulously logging key details: item descriptions, measurements, provenance, purchase invoices, and researched market values. At the end, the client receives a detailed digital file—a comprehensive and organized record of their collection.

What Covid gave us was time. Time to develop a service of real substance and quality. Because when you're entrusted with capturing the history and emotional value behind someone’s collection, you owe it to them to present it with care, respect, and professionalism.
